The People of New York, New Jersey, and All the People of Storm Beaten Eastern USA NEED YOUR HELP NOW

This is Too Big for the people to handle on their own, and they seriously need everyone's help.  $10, $5. even $1. will help...  If only 1 million of us give a simple $10 donation, that will be 10 million dollars going to help these victims.

I went through Hurricane Iniki, on the island of Kaua'i, so I know, first hand, how badly they need help.  They need towels, deodorant, clothing, blankets, temporary shelters, food, water... even a hug.  Every little bit all adds up, and the Red Cross is the one that does the most to help in times like this, but without our help, the Red Cross cannot offer the things and support these people so very, very badly need RIGHT NOW.

You can help by going to: http://redcross.org, or call 800-HELP-NOW (800-435-7669)
If you are in the USA you can text REDCROSS to 90999 to make an automatic, one time donation of $10.
If you're a "think different" Mac person, go to: itunes.com/redcross
or Twitter #SandyHelp

Update: The cell number and contact info above was from a wonderful telethon our local television station was showing last night (Nov 2nd)

I'm not sure if all of them still work; they should, but if not, I know that http://redcross.org will always be a good place to donate, and if you are not comfortable with donating to the red cross, then do it through your church, or the salvation army, or whatever your choice is, but I know from experience of having been a hurricane victim years ago, it was the Red Cross and National Guard that helped us the most.

ANY help at all... Even $1. will help a LOT.

Please Help...  They won't make it without our help...

Believe me, they don't need your distant sympathy; they need your HELP

Alabama Power Company says it Recalled Workers due to Union Membership Requirement

This is Politics and Corporations at their best!!???  They say, "While the crew waited in Virginia, Seaside reportedly received the assistance it needed elsewhere."  WHAT???!!! ..."received the assistance it needed".....  That just CANNOT be true!!!  THE NY and NJ PEOPLE NEED HELP NOW!  All the help they can get!  Anyone coming to lend any kind of help they can give should be able to get through; not suddenly have their state or company call them back over union issues.  THIS IS A HUMAN ISSUE; NOT UNION, OR POLITICAL!!!  This is disgusting!  I must add here, that just the other day, (like him or not) our President assured us all that there would be NO red tape or politics when it came to helping the victims of Hurricane Sandy.  This IS red tape, and it prevented the good hearts of these electric workers from helping...

(Below is the report from the "PolitickerNJ")

A six-man utility crew from Alabama returned South today because of what the company said was a requirement that workers agree to join an electrical workers union before being allowed to aid with power restoration in New Jersey.

In a statement, Decatur Utilities of Huntsville, Ala. said they sent a crew to work in Seaside Heights, but held them in Virginia while it clarified paperwork the company understood to be a requirement that its workers join IBEW before aiding crew here.  While the crew waited in Virginia, Seaside reportedly received the assistance it needed elsewhere.  However "uncertainty" over the union requirement "that we could not agree to" caused the company to recall its workers.

An intial report from an Alabama television station said the workers were "turned away" when they got to New Jersey, however Decatur said their workers never got that far north and turned back because of the union requirement.

More than a million people in the state remain without power.  A spokesman for the governor said today that no crews have been turned away and spokesmen for both JCP&L and PSE&G have said they are taking all offers of aid.

Below is the text of the full release from Decatur:

Decatur Utilities sent a 6-man crew to the Northeast Wednesday October 31st, bound for Seaside Heights, NJ to assist with power restoration. Communications with Seaside Heights was poor due to lack of cell phone service in the area.  Upon arriving at a staging area near Virginia, crews were held in place pending clarification of documents received from IBEW that implied a requirement of our employees to agree to union affiliation while working in the New York and New Jersey areas.  It was and remains our understanding that agreeing to those requirements was a condition of being allowed to work in those areas.  As we waited for clarification, we became aware that Seaside Heights had received the assistance they needed from other sources.  To be clear, at no time were our crews "turned away" from the utility in Seaside Heights.

In connection with state and regional public power associations, Decatur Utilities attempted to contact other areas that needed assistance.  However, based on the uncertainty of union requirements that we could not agree to and the uncertainty of whether a resolution could be reached, we ultimately made the decision to return them to Decatur after being stalled in Virginia are most of the day on Thursday.

SHOCK: 72 Hours After Grid-Down: Starvation, Supply Shortages, Food Lines, No Clean Water, No Gas, Transportation Standstill *Independent Reports, Pics, Video*

A recent study noted that the majority of people have enough food in their pantries to feed their household for about three days and that seemingly stable societies are really just nine meals from anarchy. With most of us dependent on just-in-time transportation systems to always be available, few ever consider  the worst case scenario.
For tens of thousands of east coast residents that worst case scenario is now playing out in real-time. No longer are images of starving people waiting for government handouts restricted to just the third-world.
In the midst of crisis, once civilized societies will very rapidly descend into chaos when essential infrastructure systems collapse.
Though the National Guard was deployed before the storm even hit, there is simply no way for the government to coordinate a response requiring millions of servings of food, water and medical supplies
Many east coast residents who failed to evacuate or prepare reserve supplies ahead of the storm are being forced to fend for themselves.
Frustration and anger have taken hold, as residents have no means of acquiring food or gas and thousands of trucks across the region remain stuck in limbo.
Limited electricity has made it possible for some to share their experiences:
Via Twitter:
  • I was in chaos tonite tryin to get groceries…lines for shuttle buses, only to get to the no food left & closing early
  • I’m not sure what has shocked me more, all the communities around me destroyed, or the 5 hour lines for gas and food.
  • Haven’t slept or ate well in a few days. Hope things start getting better around here soon
  • These days a lot of people are impatient because they’re used to fast things. Fast food, fast internet, fast lines and fast shipping etc.
  • Glad Obama is off to Vegas after his 90 minute visit. Gas lines are miles long.. Running out of food and water. Great Job
  • Went to the Grocery store and lines were crazy but nail salon was empty so I’ve got a new gel manicure and some Korean junk food
  • So f*cking devastated right now. Smell burning houses. People fighting for food. Pitch darkness. I may spend the night in rockaway to help
Things are starting to become horrific for the unprepared, as food lines stretch for miles and Meals-Ready-To-Eat are in short supply:

(above images via Gothamist)
With mass transit out of service and no gas, residents have no choice but to commute by foot. Survival Blog founder James Rawles has referred to the masses of starving people who will roam the streets in a post-collapse world as the Golden Horde – here’s a small taste of what that will look like:
The situation has become so desperate that some have been forced to resort to rummaging through the garbage for food:
Video:

“We’ve seen everyone here from the elderly, to families with children…”
A simple survival kit and some basic hurricane preparedness would have prevented days of heartache for residents of stricken areas.
The vast majority of those waiting in mile-long long food lines, rummaging through the trash, and criticizing their government officials for a slow and insufficient response have no one to blame but themselves.
This may be harsh – but it’s true.
We wish all those having a difficult time dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy the best going forward. Perhaps it will be a wake-up call for the rest of the nation.
Hurricane Sandy, while disastrous, is not nearly as bad as it could have been.

It has happened before. It will happen again. Prepare or suffer the consequences.

Unrest growing among NJ, NY citizens: Dumpster diving for food, fist fights over fuel, tempers flare in Sandy aftermath

(NaturalNews) The first 72 hours after a natural disaster are the "polite" hours. Residents operate under the illusion that Big Government will soon save them with emergency supplies: food, water, fuel, clothing and more. So they follow the rules and "play nice."

After about the third day, all those social niceties start to erode. People are hungry and angry. There's a feeling of desperation and even abandonment. What seemed to be a polite society two days earlier suddenly becomes more sinister. The survival needs of individuals begin to outweigh social boundaries, and what emerges is desperation... even panic.

"Dwindling gasoline supplies are causing frayed nerves as the region endures its third full day with massive power outages." reports Fox News. "Frustration with gas supplies topped the list of issues causing tensions to boil over in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut, the states hardest hit by power outages in the wake of superstorm Sandy. Residents jockeyed for fuel at the few stations still pumping, searched store shelves in vain for batteries, struggled with sporadic cell phone service and found themselves unable to buy necessities at supermarkets."

State troopers have now been deployed to gas stations in an effort to head off near-riots as citizens lose patience and tempers flare.

On Twitter, fist fights are being reported over fuel shortages. Police have had to draw guns on some people, reports Brietbart.com.

That article includes posts from Twitter users:

You know things are bad when you ask the gas station attendent "when do you think you're going to get more gas?" and he just laughs at you. - Prede (@predederva) November 1, 2012

Just awful! RT @metrogypsy: Someone just pulled a knife at Greenpoint #gas station as line stretches with hours long wait #gettingrealFAST - Camila Xavier (@camilaxavier) November 1, 2012

Watching the breakdown of society at a gas station on Long Island. #sandysucks - Christina (@wooly_says) November 1, 2012

There are also tweets from some users who are intelligent preppers... like this one from JohnnyRH:

I live in Utah and the people here are big into "prepping"... I have relatives in NJ and just last week we were talking and they thought I was nuts to own guns, store fuel and water and have a generator. Most people are totally blind to what chaos will come with a really large power grid failure over half or all of the country. It will take little more than a week for all hell to break loose and riots will be the norm.

"We're going to DIE!"

Another report from ABC News reveals the desperation and panic now forming among residents in Staten Island.

"We're going to die! We're going to freeze! We got 90-year-old people!" Donna Solli told visiting officials. "You don't understand. You gotta get your trucks down here on the corner now. It's been three days!"

The situation is so bad that even the Red Cross is being blamed for not showing up with supplies:

"This is America, not a third world nation. We need food, we need clothing," Staten Island Borough President Jim Molinaro said today. “My advice to the people of Staten Island is: Don't donate to the American Red Cross. Put their money elsewhere." (ABC News)

NBC News reports:

Staten Island officials had some choice words Thursday to describe what they said was a feeble disaster-relief response to people left dying, homeless and hungry in the New York City borough hit particularly hard by Sandy. Staten Island's top elected official blasted the American Red Cross response as "an absolute disgrace" and went so far as to urge its residents not to donate to the largely volunteer agency.

No gas for a week, no power for two

This situation, by the way, is only going to get FAR WORSE before it gets better. CNBC reports gas shortages will continue for at least a week, possibly longer. That's seven more days even while desperation has already taken hold on day three!

And power? Con Edison says it will be another 10 days before power is restored to the majority of customers currently in the dark.

As long as the power is out, gas stations can't pump gas, and that means continued gas shortages. That, in turn, means more desperation, starvation and even panic as residents can't use vehicles to acquire food and supplies. The American way of life, remember, is almost unimaginable without gasoline. Half the population seems physically incapable of walking anywhere these days, and almost nobody own bicycles anymore.

Things are going to get a lot worse over the next few days

What happens when millions of people packed into high-density cities can't get food, fuel or electricity?

People get desperate, of course. Desperation is about to set in. In the days ahead, you're going to see more fights and even weapons brought to bear in real-life survival scenarios. The federal government will predictably fail to reach people with the help they need, and people who neglected to prepare will find themselves in ever-more-desperate circumstances.

This is a time when nearly everybody suddenly realizes gee, it sure would have been smart to have been a prepper.

What's the value of having emergency food, fuel, a water filter, batteries and a fully loaded Remington shotgun in the hours after a superstorm? Priceless.

Preparedness is the solution

What's the solution to all this frustration and panic? Preparedness.

If the people of Staten Island or NYC had been prepared for the storm that they knew was approaching, they wouldn't be in a state of desperation right now!

If they had stored some of their own food, fuel, water and emergency supplies, they wouldn't be panicked for the Red Cross to show up and save them.

If they had intelligently planned ahead and taken action based on the seven days of dire weather predictions that preceded the storm, they wouldn't need to beg for big government to bail them out!

The answer to disasters like Sandy is to be a prepper.

Preppers are the new prophets

In the wake of Sandy, preppers suddenly seem like geniuses. While being ridiculed by the rest of the population for as long as we can all remember, preppers are the ones still standing in the aftermath of the storm.

They're the ones you don't see on the news, begging for help and panicking over the situation, because the preppers are sitting in their homes, eating their stored food, drinking their filtered water, double-checking their shotgun loads and staying off the streets. Preppers are the ones NOT looting, NOT complaining about the Red Cross, and NOT diving in dumpsters to find food while waiting around for the government to show up and save them.

Preppers are the new prophets. And those who failed to prepare are the new homeless.

Police State: Growth Rate of Cops Exceeds Population Growth

(Infowars) The Bureau of Justice Statistics has released a report demonstrating the growth of police in the United States.

The survey was conducted with agencies that participated in the 2008 Census of State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies and the results were released by the Justice Department this month.

Between 1992 and 2008 the numbers of police grew by 25 percent.

In 2008 there were 705,000 full-time sworn officers employed in the United States. The number was 564,000 in 1992.

This represents an annual growth rate of 1.6 percent, which exceeds the 1.2 percent population growth rate in the United States, according to the survey.

Law enforcement grew its ranks despite a significant decline in crime. According to FBI statistics, murder, rape and robbery went down in the United States in 2011 for a fifth consecutive year.

Compared with 2010, the new figures show violent crime down 3.8 percent overall and property crime was down 0.5 percent, CNN reported on October 29. Justice Department figures show the crime-rate fell to an all-time low in 2011.

Despite the decline in crime, police departments around the country are rapidly transforming into paramilitary organizations.

Forbes reported last year that the Department of Homeland Security granted local cops $3 billion that was spent on “necessary tools” like BearCats and armored personnel vehicles.

In 2011 17,000+ federal, state and local agencies accepted more than $2.6 billion in donated military equipment, much of it used in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The combat equipment and lavish funding from the federal government are intended for all-inclusive counter-narcotics and -terrorism enforcement activities, Forbes notes.

The massive presence of militarized police at the establishment’s presidential conventions this year and as a now routine fixture at globalist confabs reveals the real reason for the militarization and growth of the police despite falling crime rates – the United States is a police state and the enemy is not al-Qaeda, anarchists (many who are police and FBI agents provocateurs), or even violent drug gangs.

Americans opposed to a government long ago captured by transnational corporations and their bankster and one-world government globalist overlords are the enemy.

A Ten Dollar Laser Pointer Will Heal Tissue Faster Than Any Medication

A very effective, yet suppressed treatment to alter cellular function is using light-emitting diodes or low-level lasers. This healing modality is available in most electronic stores for less than ten dollars, and it will work better than any medication to relieve pain, increase joint mobility, relax muscles and even heal wounds.

A 5mW 635nm key chain laser (above) available at many electronic stores has more than sufficient power to stimulate and initiate healing at the cellular level.

All light therapy is not the same; in fact, there are several different light therapy devices that produce totally different effects on the body -- utilizing many different actions. All of these different actions are created by different properties of light, power, and frequency.

Low Light Laser Therapy (LLLT)

LASERS (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) are intended to emit energy in the infrared spectrum to provide topical and deep heating for the purpose of elevating tissue temperature. The mechanism of action for infrared lasers and light units is thermal and mechanical, and healing comes about as a byproduct of the stimulation not as a direct mechanism of the therapy.

Low light laser therapy (LLLT) is effective in relieving short-term pain for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, acute and chronic neck pain, tendinopathy, and possibly chronic joint disorders. The evidence for LLLT being useful in the treatment of low back pain, dentistry and wound healing is equivocal.

Lasers are very complex in their actions because they are designed to stimulate the physiology of the body through a mechanism called biomodulation or photobiomodulation.

These principles of light or energy medicine originated in the quantum physics of Einstein himself. He first introduced the concept of the LASER. He also stated that every living cell emits radiation called the “photon emission of living cells”, or what we commonly refer to as the aura.

Due to the low power density and the properties of the wavelength used, the true low level therapy lasers are only capable of delivering a physiological dose of therapy. One of the most important aspects of a physiological dose of therapy is that it is safe. It is safe no mater what the condition or pathology is, no matter what medications the patient is on, no matter what the patient may be allergic to, no matter what, a true LLLT unit will do no harm.

Better Than Medication

In fact, most studies show that LLLT can stimulate healing faster and more effectively than almost any medication either ingested or used topically. The reasons are primarily due to the inability of medications to affect the brain's Neuroplasticity in the treatment of chronic conditions. One of the most profound physiological effects of low level therapeutic lasers is the effect of Neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity represents the brain’s ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. Neuroplasticity provides a way for nerve cells (neurons) in the brain to respond and compensate for injury and disease and adjust neuronal activity in response to a new situation or to changes in the environment.

Neuroplasticity represents a new rapidly evolving approach to healing. Given any trauma, realizing all traumas involve the central nervous system recognizing the trauma (consciously or subconsciously), quick response with active neuronal stimulation, could theoretically maintain, repair, retain most CNS functions (learning, memory, speech, emotional distress, movement, balance etc.). In simpler terms, theoretically the proper immediate use of LLLT therapy post trauma, especially brain trauma, could eliminate much of the neurological disabilities common in head trauma today.

Many studies have validated the incredible success of LLLT in wound healing, joint disorders, thyroid, bone repair and many other conditons.

Silva Junior A, Pinheiro A, Oliveira M et al. in the Journal of clinical laser medicine & surgery (2002) evaluated morphometrically the amount of newly formed bone after laser irradiation of surgical wounds created in the femur of rats. Computerised morphometry showed a significant difference between the areas of mineralised bone in laser and non-laser treated groups indicating that LLLT increased bone repair at early bone healing.

Pereira A, de Paula Eduardo C, Matson E et al in Lasers Surg Med. (2002) studied cell growth and procollagen synthesis of cultured fibroblasts by laser irradiation. They showed the treatment remarkably increased cell growth.

In Laser Med Surg Abstract issue 2002, Sanseverino N T M, Sanseverino C A M, Ribeiro M S et al. demonstrated that in people with temporomandibular disorders, and an evaluation of subjective pain assessment and measurement of the movements of the jaw, there was a significant improvement in the laser group only.

The Mechanism of Action For 635nm Light

Biological light receptors in living tissue, termed chromophores, have peak activation at wavelengths between 600nm and 720nm. The most commonly used wavelengths to activate these chromophores are from 630nm to 635nm. This is because even though different chromophores have peak activation somewhere between 600nm and 720nm, each chromophore can still be activated within a wider wavelength spectrum. 635nm falls within the wavelength spectrum of all biological chromophores in man and animals. This means there is no need to utilize multiple colors of lasers to activate the different chromophores in the body.

Once the light energy passes through the layers of skin and reaches the target area, it is absorbed and interacts with the light sensitive elements in the cell. This process can be compared to photosynthesis in plants - sunlight is absorbed by plants, which is then converted to usable energy so that the plant can grow.

When cells absorb light energy, it initiates a series of events in the cell that is theorized to eventually result in normalizing damaged or injured tissue, a reduction in pain, inflammation, edema and an overall reduction in healing time by increasing intracellular metabolism.

There are three specific and unique methods the 635nm wavelength lasers:

1. Within the cell, the signal is transduced and amplified by a photon acceptor (chromophore). When a chromophore first absorbs light, electronically excited states are stimulated, primary molecular processes are initiated which lead to measurable biological effects. These photobiological effects are mediated through a secondary biochemical reaction, photosignal transduction cascade, or intracellular signaling which amplifies the biological response.

2. The ionizing effects of LLLT allow photon acceptors to accept an electron. This turns on the oxidation-reduction cycle of the stimulated chromophores such as Cytochrome oxidase, hemoglobin, melanin, and serotonin. Changing the re-dox state of the chromophore changes the biological activity of that chromophore e.g., hemoglobin changes its oxygen carrying capacity. This has the potential to triple the oxygen carrying capacity of blood instantly.

3. When photon energy breaks a chemical bond, changes occur in the allosteric proteins in cell membranes (cell, mitochondrial, nuclear) and monovalent and divalent fluxes activate cell metabolism and intracellular enzymes directly. Direct activation of cell membranes alters ion fluxes, particularly calcium, across that membrane. Changes in intracellular calcium alter the concentrations of cyclic nucleotides, causing an increase in DNA, RNA, and protein synthesis, which stimulate mitosis and cellular proliferation.

Low Level Therapeutic Lasers (LLLT) can be recognized by the following characteristics:

  • In the product description the wavelength of the light will be in the visible red range, 630nm (for HeNe tube lasers) and 635nm (for semiconductor laser diodes).
  • In the product description the total power output will be less than 5mW per laser.
  • The housing that contains the lasers can be held at a comfortable distance from the wound or tissue being treated.
  • The therapy can be administered through natural fiber cloths so that the patient seldom has to disrobe.
  • Eye protection is not necessary for the patient or the doctor; although directing any LLLT unit at the eyes can be dangerous.
  • The proper treatment will be based on the frequency utilized and the Jules of energy are never mentioned.
  • Photobiomodulation and biological amplification is promoted, the word “penetration” will never be found.
  • Low power and no heat will be promoted, High power of any kind should not be seen.
  • 635nm energy is visible so you always know if the unit is on and where it is pointed.
  • The laser can have a pulse frequency setting and they will be documented as accurate and with a broad range.

Big Brother and the Coming Drone Wars

Perhaps one day they’ll arrive over a neighborhood near you. Drones are becoming America’s weapon of choice. Domestically so far, they’re used only for eyes in the sky spying.

Big Brother wants to watch everyone all the time. Don’t bet against eyes not being weaponized one day to punish as well as spy. That’s how rogue states operate.

America is by far the worst and most dangerous. Waging war on humanity is policy. Imagine living in a country run by officials who think war is good.

The more the better. Permanent ones. Wage them while pretending it’s done for peace.

Few question why America is always at war somewhere. Scant attention is paid to the trillions of dollars spent at the expense of vital domestic needs gone begging.

Militarism is prioritized. Budgets are virtually open-ended. America’s duopoly assures it. Imagine policy makers deciding on which country they’ll ravage next.

It makes no difference whether Obama or Romney takes charge. Both major parties are in lockstep on all issues mattering most.

Corporate empowerment, serving America’s 1%, cracking down on resisters, and imperial dominance top their list. Hell hath no fury like an out-of-control hegemon. If analyzed on a couch, it would be called sociopathic or worse.

A Washington Post Special Report discussed America’s permanent war agenda. A previous article discussed Obama’s Disposition Matrix. It called it elevating Murder, Inc. to a higher level.

Anyone can be targeted anywhere in the world for any reason or none at all. Obama has final kill list authority. John Brennan is his counterterrorism maestro of murder. His “playbook” makes up rules as he writes them.

He designates kill targets. He calls it a strategy to persist ’till the end of time. Last August he said:

“What we’re trying to do right now is to have a set of standards, a set of criteria, and have a decision-making process that will govern our counterterrorism actions – we’re talking about direct action, lethal action – so that irrespective of the venue where they’re taking place, we have a high confidence that they’re being done for the right reasons in the right way.”

In other words, kill because we say so. No further explanation. No mention of rule of law principles. Right, of course, is might, whether or not legal, moral and ethical.

In his journey into the “Heart of Darkness,” Joseph Conrad wrote:

“one comes to hate those savages….hate them to the death….Exterminate all the brutes!” Kill orders target anyone challenging US hegemony. Targeted killing more than ever is US policy.

Washington Post writer Craig Whitlock explained more. On October 25, he headlined “Remote US base at core of secret operations,” saying:

“Around the clock, about 16 times a day, drones take off or land at” America’s Djibouti-based Camp Lemonnier. It’s “the combat hub for the Obama administration’s counterterrorism wars in the Horn of Africa and the Middle East.”

France’s Foreign Legion established Lemonnier. Post-9/11 it became a US Naval Expeditionary Base. It’s located at Djibouti’s International Airport.

It’s home to the Pentagon’s Africa Command (USAFRICOM) Combined Joint Task Force – Horn of Africa (CJTF/HOA).

“Over the past two years, the U.S. military has clandestinely transformed it into the busiest Predator drone base outside the Afghan war zone….”

Extraordinary efforts are made to conceal its lawless mission. Decisions on who lives or dies are made secretly. Lemonnier’s commander knows. His job is execute kill orders.

“Virtually the entire 500-acre camp is dedicated to counterterrorism” killing. It’s the Pentagon’s first “permanent drone war base.” It won’t be the last. Perhaps many more are planned globally.

Drones, of course, operate out of many other US facilities. Regional ones include Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Seychelles-based installations.

Lemonnier so far is the only Pentagon installation of its kind. Secrecy shrouds its operations. Post journalists were denied permission to visit. After one showed up unannounced, commanding General Ralph Baker agreed to an off-base interview.

He wouldn’t comment on drone missions or other issues mattering most. The Post, however, obtained numerous unclassified military documents. They cover construction blueprints, drone accident reports, and internal planning memos.

They show how Djibouti-based drone wars escalated exponentially since early 2011. They also reveal ambitious future plans.

The Pentagon’s Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) plays a central role. It’s used for top-secret counterterrorism missions. Navy SEALs, Army Delta Force commandos, and other Special Ops forces are involved.

Operations known about include counterterrorism missions, surveillance, intelligence gathering, and hostage rescues.

About 300 Special Ops personnel plan, coordinate, and execute these and other missions. Others on base aren’t told what they do.

In September 2011, a Lemonnier-based drone killed Muslim cleric/US citizen Anwar Al Awlaki. He lived in Yemen. He committed no crime. He was assassinated for opposing US belligerency.

His murder and others put all anti-imperial opponents at risk. US citizenship protects no one. If outspoken enough, anyone may be next. Perhaps writers, authors, and media hosts will be targeted. Warrior states don’t tolerate truth-tellers.

Lemonnier is home to around 3,200 military, civilian and private contractor personnel. Most know little about highly classified counterterrorism work. The select 300 handle it. Their mandate also includes intelligence gathering. Killing, however, is prioritized.

Obama, Brennan, and other high-level officials decide on “disposition matrix” targets. They function as judge, jury and executioner. They hold the power of life and death in their hands.

Plans call for large-scale Lemonnier expansion. Operational forces will more than triple to around 1,100. Pentagon officials only say “a wide variety of regional security missions” are involved. “(S)ecurity considerations prevent us from commenting on specific(s).”

Lemonnier is America’s “centerpiece of an expanding constellation of half a dozen” African-based US drone and surveillance facilities. They’re also home to conventional attack aircraft. F-15E Strike Eagles fly regional combat missions.

Djibouti’s location is key. It’s situated between East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Somalia and Yemen can be reached in minutes. Djibouti’s port offers easy access to the Indian Ocean and Red Sea.

Deputy Assistant Secretary for Africa, Amanda Dory, said Lemonnier isn’t “an outpost in the middle of nowhere of marginal interest. This is a very important location in terms of US interest, in terms of navigation, when it comes to power projection.”

Three classified military operations include Copper Dune (CD), Jupiter Garret (JG) and Octave Shield (OS). CD conducts counterterrorism operations in Yemen. Africa command officials refused comment on JG and OS. Only their unclassified code names are known.

Air Force safety records provide information on aircraft accidents. In February, a Special Ops U-28 spy plane crashed. Four crew members died.

Since January 2011, information on five drone crashes is known. One involved a JSOC major identified only as “Frog.” He coordinated Predator missions. Nothing more is known.

Missions are so secret even ground crews aren’t told about destinations or targets. All they know is that drones depart. Most return hours later. Problems beset others. They likely crashed, split apart, or burned.

Lemonnier missions are controlled remotely from Creech and Cannon Air Force Bases in Nevada and New Mexico respectively. Operators use multiple keyboards and monitors.

Enemies are faceless and nameless. Killing can be controlled nearby or from half a world away. Each drone system includes multiple UAVs, a ground station, satellite link, and launch site maintenance crew.

Rotating ones are on standby 24-hours a day for missions on a moment’s notice. Predator drones sanitize killing on the cheap. Disturbing questions are unanswered. Secrecy, unaccountability, and lawlessness matter most.

So is the huge number of civilian casualties. Investigative work determined that only 2% of victims are high-level combatants. Ordinary people suffer most.

Official reports lie. Hard truths reveal what policy makers want suppressed. Murder, Inc. is ugly business anywhere for any reason. More than ever it’s official US policy.
